Statements accompanying wage packets

Article 35

a) The following details should be included in the employee's pay statement:

  1. Normal weekly wages including in the total, or specifying separately, regular payments such as – Service increment Enhanced rates for shift work or 'unsocial hours', night work, split duties and weekend duties
  2. Overtime and other similar variable payments
  3. Allowances (showing taxable and non-taxable allowances separately)
  4. Incentive bonus earnings (if any)

b) If it is impossible because of machine or other limitations to show separately enhanced rates and/or overtime earnings, the employing authority should provide with each statement a note of the hours for which payment is being made so that the employee can calculate his gross earnings.
