Payments for recalls to duty
Article 12

A) Dayworkers
1. To qualify for payment in accordance with this Article, an employee must:
- have ceased work and left his place of employment and been recalled to work, or
- have been notified before ceasing work to return to work at a time not less than 2 hours after his normal finishing time.
2. Where the recall to work is at a time which is more than 3 hours before his normal commencing time, payment shall be as follows:
- Return to work and not required or required for less than 2 hours (3 hours in the case of the Isle of Man Transport (Heritage Railways Division) employees)
A minimum payment as for 2 hours (3 hours in the case of employees of the Heritage Railways Division of Isle of Man Transport) at the rate of time-and-one-half or the rate appropriate to the day and time whichever is the greater. - Time worked up to and including 3 hours
Time-and-one-half or the rate appropriate to the day and time whichever is the greater. - Time worked in excess of 3 hours
Double-time for hours worked in excess of 3 up to normal commencing time. - Work after midnight
Double-time for all hours worked up to normal commencing time subject to a minimum payment under (a) above. - Multiple recalls during the same period
Time-and-one-half or the rate appropriate to the day and time, whichever is the greater, for the hours worked subject to the total payment for the hours actually worked on the several recalls to work being not less than the amount which would have accrued if the recall had been for the same number of hours on a single occasion.
3. Where the recall to work is 3 hours or less before his normal commencing time, an employee shall be paid time-and-one- half or the rate appropriate to the day and time, whichever is the greater, for the hours worked and plain-time in respect of any period between the finish of the work and his normal commencing time.
B) Shift Workers
1. To qualify for payment in accordance with this paragraph, a shift worker must:
- have completed his shift and left his place of employment and been recalled to work, or
- have been notified before completing his shift to return to work at a time not less than 2 hours after the completion of his shift.
2. Where the recall to work is at a time which is more than 3 hours before the commencement of his next shift, payment shall be as follows:
- Return to work and not required or required for less than 2 hours
A minimum payment as for two hours at the rate of time- and-one-half or the rate appropriate to the day and time whichever is the greater. - Time worked up to and including 3 hours
Time-and-one-half or the rate appropriate to the day and time whichever is the greater. - Time worked in excess of 3 hours
Double-time for hours worked in excess of three up to normal commencing time. - Work after midnight
Double-time for all time worked up to normal commencing time of the next normal day shift, subject to a minimum payment under (a) above. - Multiple recalls during the same period
Time-and-one-half or the rate appropriate to the day and time, whichever is the greater, for the time worked subject to the total payment for the hours actually worked on the several recalls to work being not less than the amount which would have accrued if the recall had been for the same number of hours on a single occasions.
3. Where the recall to work is 3 hours or less before the commencement of his next shift, a shift worker shall be paid time-and-one-half or the rate appropriate to the day and time, whichever is the greater, for the hours worked and plain-time in respect of any period between the finish of the work and the commencing time of the next shift.
Note 1: The next shift for the purposes of this paragraph can be a change of shift, providing the employee was notified of the change of shift before he completed his last shift.
Note 2: Where 1(a) is applicable the period for which payment is made should be calculated on the basis of home to home and not from the arrival at and departure from the depot or workplace.
C) Water Workers
