Jurors allowance

Article 28

An employee summoned for jury service must report the fact immediately to his supervisor, who shall grant him leave of absence therefor unless the employee is granted exemption from such service by the Coroner (or his Lockman).

An employee who serves as a juror:

  1. shall be paid the weekly rate (or part thereof) ordinarily payable to him for a standard working week

  2. shall claim any allowance due to him from the Government as compensation for loss of wages and, on his return to work, shall pay such allowance in full to his supervisor who shall transmit the same to the appropriate pay department. However, when an employee is required to perform jury service on a rest day or during his holidays he shall be permitted to retain the jurors allowance paid to him.
